Default Trying for a 958 CTT DME Group Buy?

Can we get enouch interest to try for a group buy on an FVD or EVOMS DME to give our CTT's a 50 and 80HP boost? Maybe even get the bypass pipes from FVD, Fabspeed or EVOMS that would make it 600HP total??

This is just and inquiry to see if we can get 5 or more people that want to do some upgrades. It is not intended to pitch one against the other but instead to find out who would be interested in what. If we can get some interest I will do the leg work to set something up.

While installing a warranty voiding aftermarket DME sounds like a good idea at first, Professor Griff says

It is removable and doesn't void the warranty. I had the FVD DME on my last CTT and NEVER, EVER had any issue at the stealer and my stealer is an *** for anything. Their usual favorite thing to say is "that's normal" or "that's what Porsche's do". I've owned several p-cars and never had an issue as a result of the DME.

BTW, what do you think the CTT S will have done to it? DME improvements and supposed turbo's...

Sorry, just noticed your signature line and all your cars are out of warranty... so it's a no brainer

Go ahead and believe all the claims, doesn't bother me at all. I put Fabspeeds on my 911, but it wasn't because I fell for some hp gain BS. You can flash the ECU for more HP, but I seriously doubt PCNA supports this under warranty.

Why remove if it doesn't void the warranty?

Don't understand the out of warranty/no brainer comment.

It's a no brainer to add the extra 50HP to your out of warranty '04 CS (http://www.fvd.de/us/en/Porsche-0/Ca...rbo_2011-.html). Duh! Why do I have to explain everything to you?!

I believe at one time Porsche had a DME upgrade, they sent in your DME for it.
No idea if they still do it.

I had a Porsche dealer (in PA, and they advertised it on eBay) do a DME upgrade on the old P!G back in 2005.

^ Oh. Count me in for the group buy then.

Lewis can sort out all of the PCNA warranty claims for you hoity toity 1%ers.

You should also be aware that Porsche Cars N. A. may deny you warranty coverage if your vehicle or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.
I'm sure PCNA considers this an approved mod and will cover any resulting claim. I'm glad that a user is guiding everyone with appropriate advice.

You can't take these to a track, much less add aftermarket parts and expect warranty coverage. I consider any mods the day the warranty expires, and am ready to install the new wiper blades on my P!g. It's either raining and I don't want to get wet, or it's not raining and I don't need wipers.

My bony boy ***?

I just don't want to see anyone mislead, even someone that won't pay for a membership after 8 years. There are three possible outcomes.

1) This non-OEM mod is fine. Your warranty is still honored by PCNA.

B) Hey, remove that thing before any warranty service and cross your fingers.

Third) The PIWIS already picked up your out of spec data and you're screwed.

Don't be a hater... be a socialist if you like. Besides, your rides are all non-issues for the warranty items you are talking about so go for it!

BTW, I support the site by buying from the vendors for many of my cars and purchases over the years. Since I don't lurk here often I don't see the need to also pay for membership. I see the membership as something for people who like to snipe posts and not support the vendors by buying their goods. Free country and all...

Can you address the warranty issue you lied about? I was just warning everyone, yourself included, that this will void your warranty. No hate, just providing factual information.

I steal cable TV from my neighbor, but the cable company is compensated because I watch the commercials and buy the vendor's goods. Now I'm off to OT to start a thread about people that won't cough up $17 to support the site. All the people that snipe and don't support vendors will love it.
