Somebody talk me out of a Q7 please!
We've had our eyes on the Cayenne for a while. And when it's time to get a new car for the wife, it's pretty much the obvious choice. But with the low availability and firm prices, wife has been a bit unsure if this is worth pursuing.
What made matter worse, we found out through an acquaintance that there is a way to get an Audi Q7 at dramatically discounted price using a connection he has. The Q7 already is a better bang for the buck compared to Cayenne, with the discount it's almost a no brainier.
While I have not test driven the Q7 yet, I don't want to make a decision I'll regret every time I see a Cayenne drive by.
All you p!g owners, please give me some points to put this debate to rest.

In the past couple of weeks I've taken a extremely comfortable 400 mile road trip, towed a 3 ton excavator, and gone back road corner carving in my '11 CS. On the road trip I averaged nearly 23 mpg cruising at 75+ much of the time. It is a very versatile vehicle that is a blast to drive. The Audi is a great vehicle but is not the entertaining drive that the Cayenne is, IMO. To me, that difference was definitely worth the difference in price. If that's irrelevant to you, you might as well save the extra cash and go with the Audi.

P.S. Let me translate "a bit unsure" for you. She's NOT interested in the P!G and your lifespan WILL be shortened a few years as a result if you aren't able to decipher the secret message of ..... going with Q7

The Q7 has better interior design (an Audi hallmark) and it won't be confused with a Hyundai or Lexus from the rear.
The Q7 also has a more versatile seating design/capacity and a V10 TDi (if you're lucky enough to find one) that will pull a Cayenne out of any mud trap (P!gs love mud).
The Q7 can hold its coolant as well ....
