Dension 500 + iphone 4 ?
Guys, i managed to install my gateway 500 ok in my cayenne using a good guide written here. It all works with my old ipod nano ok but it doesn't control my iphone 4.
Is this just a matter of getting thr right lead ? I updated the for, mware to the very latest.
I am planning to buy the bluetooth unit as well. Maybe the bluetooth unit will solve the iphoen compatibility issues ?
thanks

I'm using the GW500 with the BTA1500 - and it worked fine on a friends iPhone - imported his phone book, dialed correctly, all functions seemed just fine. It's almost as good with my HTC/Verizon Incredible-2.. phone works fine with the exception of voice dialing, which apparently is an Android thing, not a Dension problem. I didn't try voice dialing with my friends phone, but sometime I'll give it a go..
BTW - probably the neatest thing with the GW500 is the ability to use a USB thumb drive flash memory as a CD changer. I found a 16Gb one for $20, and so far have about 1,800 songs/performances on it - and it's not half full. I expect to be able to put my entire CD collection on the one drive.
Great tool to use to do this is "FreeRIP" - which converts (IE - rips) a CD into a folder on the flash drive (I have it set to work by composer/performer.) Takes about 2 minutes per CD. Quite an impressive free tool.
BTW - I don't think the GW500 provides direct phone capabilities.. I believe you need the BTA to do that, and it can only be done via Bluetoof..
