Switch under the driver's seat of my 2012 Cayenne S
While changing my week old Cayenne's OEM defective battery, I noticed a slide switch right beside it. The switch is normally accessible via a cover, not needing to remove the driver seat. When I started the car and nervously slid the switch to the left, the info screen ding'd and it said, "Battery discharge protection on".
Does anyone know what this switch does? I'm guessing that it's for long-term storage of the car?

Bill is joking, Vinny.
As far as I know, battery discharge protection is for specific accessories, like the plug-in cooler. If you leave it on with the engine off, it will sense it and turn the device off to protect the battery.

Thanks for the info Divot. That's good to know. I will ask the tech at Porsche Stratham either today or tomorrow when I take my Cayenne for the "airbag warning light" problem that came up after I changed my defective battery about other quirks that the car has.
