I know this is an older thread but....

I was following the tutorial and got the passenger side shocks replaced with no problem. When I got to the driver's side, the hatch shock is nothing like the passenger side shock. Then I realized that the tutorial was for a non-power liftgate. My CS has a POWERED LIFTGATE!!!

So I replaced the glass shock and left the liftgate spring alone.

Parts replaced:
Both glass shocks
Passenger side hatch shock

Is this going to work or have I screwed this up royally?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Old thread but about to do this on an 09 CTTS with power rear lid. Same question as the last post. Power opening and closing works fine. Door sags after open for 5 minutes. I just want to replace the gas cylinders, not the parts for the power lift. For the driver side with the power cylinder, does the power cylinder replace the gas pressure spring, so I should only order one gas pressure spring for the passenger side, and not a second gas pressure spring for the driver side? I intend to also order both window gas springs and the deformable foam. Thanks.

If your car has the power lift hatch, then you only need one of the 955-512-550-06 struts. The description for the part in the Porsche database will confuse you, but it is the correct part for the passenger side for cars with a power lift hatch.

i just did this on my new to me 2008 v6, took some time but it was mostly not breaking clips. there are a few youtube videos I just followed that. didn't break anything and only replaced the glass shocks. took about 2 hrs going slow and eating bbq.
the issue is putting all the pieces back in and trying not to get them dirty (headliner etc.)

Hey guys!
so I removed both the hatch shocks and the left one is different than the right one. The left mouth is bigger from one side.
many of these posts say to buy the same part for both sides.
please advice.

The one on the left is missing the retaining clip and appear to be the original part where the one on the right has a retaining clip and looks to be aftermarket.

The required parts are absolutely supposed to be the same size. So order 2 of whatever you're going to order and if they are correct they will fit both sides.
