Default PCM 2.1 Nav issue...

so, I was trying to change the voice from female to male on the pig's nav screen and now all it says is "Loading maps" when I press the "Maps" button.

Pressing "NAV" button will display "Insert navigation Data disc..." or something like that even when there is a disc in the drive.

When I press "Set" from the "Nav" screen, the status shows "Navigation is starting...".

Any ideas what's happening here?

Can I go to "Factory Setting" and try a reset? I can post pics of the screen if necessary...

I am going to the dealer tomorrow to get the recall issue taken care of anyway... but I thought I will ask here and see if I can get this nav thing fixed.

many thanks,
=K

Engine was left turned off all night yesterday and I still see it today. Drove to work and back home... still there. Looks like it is stuck somewhere and needs a hard boot.

Try pushing the 1,4, & 8 number buttons simulaneously and hold until the Porsche screen appears, that should do a hard reboot.

Thanks, hahnmgh63. Tried that and it reset. But problem persists. Hitting "Map" button displays "Loading map" with a progress bar below.

I have the exact same PCM, Nav, & Amplifier version you do, different Sat radio & CD changer and I have the phone module. What Nav disc are you using? Is there any chance it is the level 'A' verison?

Well, the problem started before I used any disc. Then I borrowed my friend's disc (04.2006 I think??) since my disc is scratched up and would not be recognized. Mine is 05.2007. What version of disc are you using? I will end up buying the same version of disc you have. Looking at the PCM software version, both of us have the latest C1 updates.

Anyways, the pig is at the dealer today... I will post here after I get it back.

Update: Dealer says it needs a newer DVD, 09.2010 I think.

So, as they were inspecting the pig, they found a slow oil leak near the tranny. Getting that fixed as well under warranty!
