Default 2012 Back-up camera update

Contacted my dealer yesterday about hard wiring in my radar detector and also asked about the status of the missing part for the back up camera. I was told that they had just started receiving information about it in the service departments and that those of us with the missing parts should be receiving notices in the mail shortly on how to schedule our install.

Anyone else hearing any news.

We picked up our Cayenne on Wednesday and were told the likely install date for the module to enable the backup camera is November.
Could be different for Canada

I was told that my 2012 CS, which completed production on August 18th, would likely be delivered with the camera operational. So it looks like the parts are once again readily available.

Hey WFBlue, I was told our Cayenne might be delivered in July (at the factory) with the camera operational - wasn't.
I was told by the delivery centre when I returned the Cayenne, the camera might be operational when delivered in Edmonton in August - wasn't.
Have now been told it might be operational in November....

Until said camera is operational, not holding my breath.
Will go and do this instead -

Does drinking help your reversing technique?

Indubitably! But only on a closed course (a la your standard advertising disclaimer - I won't claim to be a professional driver though )

Lenny. We do understand that. But we already paid for the factory cam. Now we are waiting for Porsche to install it.

Thanks for the update. I took delivery on my S mid-July and haven't heard a word.

Just found out from our dealer that the fix will be scheduled for end of october first week of November. The parts department will contact you to set up the install based on vin. Part will be shipped specifically for your vehicle.
