Same-car-wave?

Well, I was in my p1g this past weekend in southern Oregon ready to pull out on the road and a group of 914,s, and a slant nose turbo went by me. I was waving but the only one to wave was the slant nose.

Seems to me, the older the car, the more likely the wave or headlight flash. In my 04 GT3, nothing. More in my 87 911 coupe. The real hoot is my 73 Alfa GTV....all sorts of people wave and nod, regardless of what they're driving....but other Alfa drivers hardly ever do because, well, they're most likely in shock at seeing another GTV on the road....lol...

I agree that the Cayenne Companion effect is very different than the other models. For one, way too many non-Porsche afficionados driving Cayennes (Rennlisters notwithstanding). In the last two weeks, I've seen maybe 10 P!gs around here, most within a few miles of our semi-affluent neighborhood. Probably 8 of the 10 driven by women, and the women freeway drivers were full-on Prius-ing in the far right lane (clearly not Pops/EW). One guy was at the pump, pimped out and not the least bit concerned at the $100 tab. Maybe one traditional driver around and about. Seems many of my Cayenne siblings in this area just wanted the next trendy Escalade.
On the other hand, the Boxster always got a nod or gesture from other Boxsters. And even other "real" P-cars. The Cayennes around seem to be driven by the stuffy, pretentious Mercedes-Benz crowd trying to stand out a little more in their lone snobbishness.
Which is why I don't wash mine...

You know that the only real reason that other drivers try to wave and nod may be, that the Alfa is throwing oil /smoke/ flames/pieces from the back..
Sort of a warning for the mayhem you are leaving behind.. : )

I own a 2006 Boxster S and a 1997 993 Turbo.
When I dirive the Boxster, and wave to other Boxster owners, I almost always get a nice friendly wave back. About the only times I don't is because they probably did not see me.
If I'm in the Boxster, and wave to a 911 owner, they almost always ingore me.
Now, if I'm in the 911 and wave to a Boxster, I get the wave back, but they always seem a little surprised. When I wave to another 911 owner, I get a wave back a little more than 75% of the time.
Sorry, I don't wave to you Cayenne owners, becuase you are so high up off the ground, I don't think you'd see me.
