Default CEL and rough idle/acceleration

Starting the 06 CS this morning on the way to work and the car had a rough idle, thought it would smooth out on the way. Acceleration was slow and rough and by the time I got to work, the CEL was on. I have 42k on the car and am sure that it is probably the coils, add another one to the club. Since I am under 50k, I wonder if they will be under warranty.

Seems that dealer states that since the coils are the original ones they would not be covered. They state that Porsche is extending the warranty on the replacement ones and not the original. Now that really makes sense!

Ran the durametric, misfire #4. Ordered my coils and plugs. Reset the service reminder while I was there.

I hope this sorts it out. It doesn't make sense that the dealer wouldn't cover the coils.

I don't follow the logic..

1. Originals were flawed and needed replacing (almost 100%)
2. Replace originals with "new" versions
3. "New" ones fail and they are covered by extended coverage.

My lizard brain tells me that number 2 should automatically cover #1 by grandfathering....

Just replaced the coils and plugs, now running better than ever. All eight coils were cracked and it is no wonder it was running rough. The part number for the old coils was 01 and replaced with 08, Big thanks to Sunset Porsche parts. Easy job and it only took a couple of hours. I am going to send Porsche a letter and see what happens.

My original coils were covered when they failed.
