Question POLL - more on Plastic Cooling Pipes ('04-'06 Cayenne V8's)

I'm just curious if higher underhood temps from the turbo engines cause more cooling pipe failures. So.. this is a REALLY simple poll:

IF you've had the pipes fail - let us know if you have normally aspirated V8, or a turbo V8. Ditto on if not..

As of right now - interesting numbers:

o - Turbos - 25% failure rate (2 of 8)
o - Non-Turbos - 57% failure rate. (4 of 7)

Just about the opposite of what I expected - but since I didn't ask for mileage numbers it may be that turbos haven't been driven as much. Or not..

Keep on polling please! We probably need about 100 responses to make this even close to valid numbers.

Pipes were replaced at 90,000 km as they had a slight crack and started to seep.
At 100,000 km the infamous T piece cracked at the back of the engine dumping the coolant.

there are way more S than TT out there. This poll has i think been done before. They all go eventually.

I replaced the pipes on my S at 100,000km, before they went. No way of ever knowing if or when they would have gone.

Micheal - true, but I'm not looking for absolute numbers - simply the percentage for each. I use the absolute numbers to calculated that, but it's turbo/vs/turbo and non-turbo/vs/non-turbo, so the actual number of each model shouldn't matter.

Can't guarantee it but my guess is that your typical Turbo in the poll has lower miles than the S's in the poll. Higher miles would make it more likely that the pipes have failed. My plastic pipes (05 TT) have not failed but I only have 29k miles on her.

I have a normally aspirated V8 and my pipes HAVEN'T failed.

2006 CS w/ 40k miles, I already bought the parts to replace but still looking for the DIY instructions or Porsche shop manual to perform the surgery.

Ordered the kit and arranged with my friend the local indy mechanic (we're friends before business..) to do the install when they arrive. Since he doesn't mind my hanging around (and handing him things) - I'll take a buncha pics..

I've saved my tax refund - debating on 'when' to do this.. I've inquired about the price from Suncoast Porche and got a fair price (06 CTT-S @ 32k miles)... I still haven't found a decent shop that can do this here in Houston, TX... anyone have a shop/mechanic to recommend?
