Update- I came home from work, opened the door heard the fuel pump, stuck the key in, pushed the brake, turned the key, and it fired right up. I am leaning towards the door opening indication and the fuel pump activation. I have noticed that the fuel pump does not always activate when I open the door.
Questions-1) does the starter circuit look at fuel pressure? 2) Does the fuel pump always run when door is opened or does it look at fuel pressure? 3) Where is the fuel pressure transmitter?

Update- I replaced the micro switch on the door. She fired right up…..every time for about a week. Then the same problem. Starts for a week then starts in the morning but doesn’t start when I am ready to leave.
I have tried the following:
1. Battery
2. door microswitch
3. repaired wires under the carpet(they were not damaged)
4. Replaced ignition switch
5. checked wire connections under the hood at charging terminals
6. replaced starter relay
Next on the list:
1. Replace starter(currently the starter turns the motor perfectly when it does connect.
Someone has surely had this issue with intermittent starting.

It is called PRNS (Porsche Random No Start). It's a bit of code that generates random no-starts. It adds to the driving experience by giving Cayenne owners a thrill and a sense of appreciation every time the vehicle starts. My mechanic disabled the feature in my 06 Turbo S by replacing the starter. Now it starts every single time I turn the key. I really miss the thrill of PRNS, but my mechanic says that it can't be enabled on a new starter.
