Default Unlocking door

I just picked up my new Cayenne (V6) a few days ago. I found that you could open any door from inside by pulling the door handle once even when all doors are centrally locked and even when the car is moving. Is this setting correct?

Thanks for your advice.

I don't know of any way to keep the front doors from being unlocked/opened by pulling on the door handles. However, the rear doors have child proof locks which prevent them from being opened from inside. The locks are in the door frame next to the latching mechanism and are operated using your emergency key. See page 31 of the manual.

Have to agree that that is the dumbest design ever. Not really an issue with a 2 door sports car as most adults know not to play with the handles when car is moving...but kids in a 4 door???? My kids are old enough that the child proof locks don't make sense anymore but not so old that they won't have a brain fart and pull the door open. One more reason to insist on wearing seatbelts...

They should design the "child" button on the door to also disable the rear doors when the car is locked.

I understand that the doors can be opened by pulling the door handle twice for the previous models. Not sure if we can have this feature reprogrammed in the new 11 model.
