New Cayenne here at long last

Wow, I finally get to see my most favorite build for a 2011 Cayenne. I love every single aspect of your build. Mere mortals like me get a kick by reading your ( being the seasoned Porschephile that you are) positive take on the driving dynamics of the Cayenne. Once again, great job on the build Mike. You deserve nothing but the best and that is exactly what you got. Hearty congratulations from your dear friend here in Washington.

Yeah, made more sense for me too. I've gotten tired of changing between summer and winter tires. On a sports car its worth it, but for a truck, i think we'll get by

Congratulations on the new vehicle, Mike. We were lucky enough to get our Cayenne S on 3/11, just one day after it hit the Port of Houston, although we finally were notified by our dealer last week that they needed to do the DME recall on it. I took it in on Monday, and they were done with it in two hours.
With respect to your V1, you may want to check to see if it picks up the K-band RF signal coming from your Lane Change Assist. Mine did, via the V1's rear antenna. I also have an Escort Redline that I substituted for the V1, and it doesn't pick up the LCA K-band signal. I'm not sure whether that is because it only has a front facing antenna, or if it may have some type of filtering for the type of repetitive pulse that LCA systems use, or both.

With respect to the V1, I'd read about the issue with LCA. Supposedly it's the POP mode of the V1 that causes the problem and it needs to be disabled. I checked my V1 on their website and it is the version just before the POP mode became a feature so hopefully it won't be an issue. Will do a road test today to see. In any event, thanks for the heads up!

I first noticed that the LCA was causing an issue with a V1 the evening we brought the Cayenne home. I was driving my Turbo S, and my wife was following in the Cayenne. Everytime she got within several car-lengths of me, my V1 would go off with a K-band alert.

Awesome vehicle Mike. You specified it EXACTLY how I would have, were I to order one.
I claim first right of refusal when you decided to move up to the Turbo. How does Edmunds Private Party price sound? I assume you got it a Sonnen?

Looks sweet. Have you floored it yet? J/K
Re: the V-1, it's easy to disable the POP feature (Instructions on Valentine website), it will be triggered by the LCA. I decided to go cordless with a Solo 3 for the p!g.

Thanks, Mike! Please report back after you try it. If you don't have any problems, I may turn the POP off on my V1. I already have it off on the Redline, which may be the real reason why it doesn't alert to the LCA.

Haven't floored it yet, but it's hard not to. I tried getting into the throttle a little coming out of a tight turn, the car sensed my intentions, and immediately adapted to a more aggressive shift map. I had to back out of the gas completely to avoid overrevving my break in limit (well, it did briefly get to almost 5K. ).

Thanks for the update, Mike.
The "tip-in" on the 8 speed Tiptronic is outstanding as it will easily drop down to 7th or 6th as the situation may require without having to either floor it to do a "kickdown" or to have to use the paddles on the steering wheel unless you want to.

I have had the wired install done to ours, with the power cable coming out at the front end of the overhead console just above the rear view mirror.
Enjoy your Cayenne S in the best of health!

Thanks for the V1 report, Mike. Still haven't installed mine. I'll be interested in your installation location. Do you also have the black interior? Great looking Cayenne!
