What's "Auto-Hold function"?

Maverick - my 2011 Touareg did what you ask, and I was disappointed when my 2013 Cayenne didn't even offer it as an option. Already jumped thru the dealer hoops too, they say it cannot be retrofitted either. So we're stuck with the fact auto-hold only works on sloped intersections.
Oh - and "pull the hand brake" is not a solution. It's engaged by pushing, disengaged by pulling.

I never touched anything on my 09 GTS and it is not on my window sticker either, but it works great when stopping on an uhill grade. Don't even need to set it with the brakes - just let off and downshift till it stops and it will set the brakes to hold. But it does not work that way in reverse when backing up an incline...

It's called "Hill Holder" for a reason. That's the actual terminology from the owners manual. It's a standard feature on every Cayenne produced from the begining of time until now. Great feature. Let go of the brake (Even on a 45+ degree incline and the car holds itself..even if you're not in the car) and the car holds itself. Press gas and it moves forwards again. Great for off roading, for getting up on ramps, and all sorts of stuff.
