My CTT has 60k miles and has had 3 horn replacements (high and low - both horns) and it is now acting up again! Starting to sound raspy andi don't think both horns are sounding very low volume and high pitched.
Is this normal, do they just not last long? Have others had this same terrible experience?

Just replaced both Low and High Pitch horns on my CS6. For me, the most difficult part was to unlock these connectors. Why did they make harness so short? And why they get flooded and die? By the way, horns have markings that indicate that they are made in Spain… Also, High Pitch is on the driver side and it is marked as 400Hz, and Low Pitch is on the passenger side and it is 500Hz. I got them from Amazon for $38.21 each. Both original horns had some water and particles banging inside when shaken. It was mentioned here to turn them up, so I tried. In the process I realized that it is not easy, because of the shape of the brackets and a short harness. So, I came up with a simple solution. I took the original brackets and hammered them down till they became completely flat. Then I bend those about 30 degrees, so the horn wouldn’t touch fog light and now it’s easy to rotate them so they are pointing up.
Then I took a jigsaw and cut the connectors off the old horns. My thinking is that, if these horns will die again, I will use the connectors to create extension harness in stead of splicing as is difficult to reach short harnesses.

Does anyone know if you have to remove the wheel? I have a 2004 CS. Both horns are dead. I dont have a floor jack.. was hoping i could just put the car in terrain height and loosen the wheel liner.
Anyone here do this job without removing the front wheels?

Good to know and thanks for the reply. I had to let go of my floor jack since we moved to Cali and live in a townhouse. Was hoping I could do this in the parking lot without removing the wheels given my scenario. It sounds like there will be a lot of contortion and cursing though. Hmmm, I need to find a good shade tree in this town.
Are the strong fingers for removing the connectors?

6 wheel well liner torx head screws- remove them.
Same under front spoiler.
Remove front bumper, disconnect qr for headlight washers, and lay bumper on cardboard off to the side. Remove headlights if ya wanna.
Disconnect horn weatherpak on harness and unbolt dead horn(s).
Repeat in reverse and another set of hands helps remove/replace bumper.
I posted my DIY a while back.
Cleaned out intercoolers and radiator while in there. Easy as ****. Wheels stayed on.

How heavy is the front bumper? are there any tricks with little latches or catches that will be tricky to figure out? I have only taken the bumper off another vehicle once (c43) and it wasn't to bad. So it's mostly the wheel liner screws holding the bumper on? how many screws other than the wheel wells hold the bumper on?
