Default Should I contact PCNA? Brought the Cayenne 3 times to dealer for...

So I brought my Cayenne to the dealer for my Park Assist 3 times before my CPO expired. The first time I complained, dealer said it was dirty and they have cleaned it. Nothing was noted in my invoice. 2nd time, they said it was my front license plate cover. They removed it and problem persists. 3rd time, they told me that the sensor was dirty and it was cleaned. 3rd time was a couple of days before my CPO expired. Soon after the CPO expired my Park assists would start going crazy. I get 2 red ligths on each side, right side would go off by itself while driveng and sometimes both sides would go off while I'm driving.

I brought it back to the dealer and they said a sensor is faulty and need to be replaced. I was told it would cost $600 to fix but will give me $200 since I complained about it in the past. I truly believe that this should be covered since I've been complaining about this well before my CPO expired.

What do you guys think I should do?

When I was leaking coolant I brought it to their attention and I was told they wont replace the pipes even though they knew it can burst anytime. They ran a test and said the overflow tank was crusty so they cleaned that free of charge.

First, I'd get your dealer to contact PCNA about this and push back on your behalf. If they have no success, I'd definitely contact PCNA directly. I hope that the problems with your Park Assist have been noted on your previous work orders which would make the argument easier.

If the coolant pipes weren't leaking, why wee you expecting them to replace them?

Sounds like your dealer is running a detail shop instead of a repair facility.

Do your service invoices specifically note the same problem with the same wording?
Do they also note previous complaints/attempts about the same exact problem?
Do you have written (or email) documentation discussing the problem?
Do you have phone logs with names, dates, times of people you spoke to regarding the problem?
Have you checked with your state A.G. office regarding "lemon laws" and "warranty claims" ?

Of course you can push back and ask that PCNA send someone out to review the vehicle and circumstances...they can of course say "no" and defer to the dealer's actions to date.

Larry's dead, but I do know what he went thru with PCNA when things go well ... not sure you want to go there over a parking assist sensor.

Your coolant pipes will eventually burst and hopefully not take your transmission seals with it...no, they are under no obligation to replace them until that happens; unless of course you want to start a class action suit on behalf of plastic tube owners.

Good luck and Godspeed...

Thanks guys!

Out of the 3 times I brought it there, only 2 invoices shows the same complaint I have. Dealer stated they cannot duplicate the problem so they removed the license plate holder/cover and then they cleaned it the 3rd time. First time I complained they didn't note anything on the invoices except for the services I had done to the car.

I don't mind replacing this sensor myself. I'm not giving the dealer $400 on something they should have fixed in the first place.

Anyone know what the part number is for front right sensor?

I would imagine Sunset Imports or Suncoast would have the best price ... Unless you can find the VAG Part number and get it cheaper from the usual VW suppliers...

Wow you guys are great! I'll just order the part and replace it myself. I'm going to order the coolant replacement kit as well. Thanks again!
