strange problem with my cayenne 2011
Hello
l have new cayenne s 2011
There is strange problem porsche dont know yet how to figure it and they keep saying to me we had sent email about this issue and waiting for responde! !!!
The problem simply when i drive slowlly after the gear change from 2 to 3 i hear some noise like tek tek tek! lol
and when i accelarate it is gone
it is only immdetly after the gear change and when the rpm down in slow driving and i have noticed that the noise increase when the engine become more warm!
I dont have any answer from porsche which is really shame to answer by (maby) every time!
They told me it maby from the valvs it may need update programming
any ideas?

I didn't realize that you had an "S". I wanted to know if you had a 6-speed manual or 8-speed Tiptronic. I understand now that it is the 8 spd.
I'm picking mine up tomorrow, will let you know if I hear that noise.

I think Rome had mentioned a similar sound in his review which came from below the center console. Is this the same place you hear the noise Mohammed ? Why the new avatar Rome. I really liked your previous one. This one is nice too BTW.

My problem has been solved by the fine gents at IRA Porsche. It turns out that the sound was actually coming from the overhead light. It was being cause by a loose circuit board in the unit which was tapping against a metal or plastic piece. It's fixed and it makes a word of difference. I also have not burned any oil in 700 miles or so, so overall, I'm starting to feel much better about this '11 CS.
About the avatar...well, all I will say is the old one will be back soon enough, unfortunately....

Have you tried it in sport mode to see if it is there too. Perhaps also try to use the tip tronic to put it in second, then thrid, and drive with it there for a while to see if there is anything unusual.
Best of luck getting to the bottom of the issue.

I was hoping it was someone we knew of in the US. I don't hear such a sound. Honestly, the switch from 2nd to third is so quick it is barely notic

I have the same noise in my CS 11. My dealer has been trying to figure it out. The Porsche factory representative has no answers as yet. I was told that no other owners of CS 11s have advised of this noise. Glad to know I am not alone.

It's the same noise. Low speed low gear knock ( like bad gas) when accelerating. I can have the car in neutral and make the noise happen with a slight rev of the engine. I can only hear the knock/tic inside the car. They think it might be the high speed fuel injector next to the fire wall which they want to insulate. My dealer is Reeves in Tampa. Reeves has been very proactive in finding the cause and I am hope it will be solved. I love car, it was met all my expectations. Owned since August and has 7500 miles.
