Default Sad Face (Build Date/Delivery)

My Cayenne was accepted as a December Build Date (Original Date Given by PCNA was Mid Dec i think like 15th or 17th)

i know the Leipsig plant closes for like 3 or so weeks in January, so i was excited about the December Build... that it would be on the boat by the time they left for vacation.

got call today that PCNA has pushed the build date until Jan 30th :-(

is there anything that can be done to bump the date back... I'm super sad now.. i was hoping for a late january delivery but now looks like late feb or early march... ( 4 months wait doesn't sound fun)

If the build was happening in Zuffenhausen under PAG's direct control, YES.

Too many factories involved with the Cayenne build...

Sorry, but it doesn't hurt to at least ask your dealer.

BTW, it is generally considered "bad luck" to get a Porsche built on either side of a plant shutdown ... going back to the Zuffenhausen days.

i asked him today and he said he would see what he could do, but considering "seeing what he could do" just bumped me an additional 45 days i figured id ask on here..

we'll see on the "bad luck", not like i can really change anything.. the order was placed with PCNA Nov. 6th, at that time i was told Dec. 15th.... my guess is they get back to work around mid Jan, so im still 2 weeks after that so should be back in the groove by then... hopefully..

i just hat waiting, i was hoping late Jan delivery... :-/

btw, ltc, dont become a doctor... haha.. your bedside manner would result in quite a few suicides.. LOL

Riley, if it makes you feel any better, my dealer first said our January build date was moved to December and then said that PCNA said "sorry, no can't do, back to January".

And I could definitely see Larry as a proctologist

My order was placed with PCNA on Nov. 7 and the order status is still on PLPROD with the Prod Month for January too. Then again I was always told that it would be a January build.

Got this from the Porsche website http://www.porsche-leipzig.com/en/le...utscheine.aspx

"The Porsche plant Leipzig will be closed for Christmas holidays from 23rd December 2010 to 9th January 2011 inclusive. Please note that we cannot work on enquiries and purchase orders during that period but will process all requests from 10th January 2011 on. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. "

thanks aperture! I guess that'll help me be patient with my feb build... knowing that it'll be outside of the "bad luck" zone.

Riley, the hardships you have endured for your incoming Cayenne ie. dealing with knuckleheads trying to low-ball U on the 997 sale and now the "forever wait"....will make you baby that much more special. Best wishes.

Sorry to hear, Riley, but now I'm a bit worried as my scheduled build date is Dec 18th. Guess it's time to call the sales advisor...
