Clunk in transmission--2008 v6 cayenne

Hi there...
When accelerating a loud clunk emits form my transmission or transmission rod...When this occurs, I traditionally take my foot off the accelerator and it pops back into place with a loud bang...

Anyone have experience with this and how to correct?

One big clunk, or lots of clunking, until you take your foot off the accelerator?
