Default 2011 turbos-are the dealers discounting?

Visited 2 dealers in LA and both wanted sticker. Can I get some feedback from buyers?

Dealers in my area were offering me 5 % discount off MSRP on the CTT that was sitting in the lot when I was looking 4 weeks ago. I did not need a CTT, custom ordered a fully optioned CS for my wife. I don't think you should pay sticker.

When you ask your dealer about his allocations for first-half 2011 you will understand why he asked sticker. Best of luck. Allocations for all dealers were massively cut. Porsche is tired of discounts and trunk money. It would not shock me if in a few weeks from now Cayennes begin selling for over sticker in some areas, the supply is just not there.

Let us know how it goes?

LA dealers are the worst. Thinking of buying my next car outside of LA to escape their attitude...

Working a deal on a turbo cayenne with a 116k sticker...I offered 110K. I think I will get it done.

5 to 6 % off on a custom order and 7 to 8 % off on an existing vehicle in the lot seems reasonable and a win-win situation for both parties.

I read the posts on discounts and I think that is coming to a very quick end. Supply is being reduced through sales and allocations to dealers have also been reduced considerably. I have been working with my local dealer and even though his sales have doubled over the last year or so his upcoming Cayenne allocations have been drastically reduced. As a many times repeat customer I have been given the only Feb 2011 allocation he has which means an April delivery.... and that will be his next inbound Cayenne unless he can trade or secure some un-used allocations from PCNA. Not a good sign.... six month wait for an SUV with nothing special in the order. I understand the factory is close to full production but the vast majority of the new Cayennes are not coming to the US. China seems to be the market for many. Wonder what politics are involved there. I would imagine since Porsche is a small manufacturer that foolish US CAFE standards are part of the equation.

Got about 8.5% off on in-stock turbo built the way we wanted it ($119k build)...got lucky. Negotiated pretty aggressively. They all seem to really want to move these vehicles to get them off the lot.
