In the past with sports cars i have gone against the "Spring" idea and gone straight to coilovers so the overall quality of the ride remained and no stress was placed on the shocks..
when it comes to the pepper, (note standard suspension, not air ride) im sure the car has more travel on the shocks and less stress would be exerted when lowered slightly...
who on here has lowered their pepper with springs? (TireRack sells the H&R springs 1.2" lowering)
any adverse affects noticed? faster degradation of shocks?
