factory hitch

I have done a fair bit of searches and still have a question for those that have factory hitches. Are these receiver type hitches where they can accept various things like cargo carriers, bike racks, etc? Can someone provide the part numbers for all the hitches and perhaps some pictures to clear this up?
I have pictures, but no part numbers for two types of hitches...one electric, and one similar but not electric (neither have receivers so I wonder how useful these would be).
Regards
Fred

Thanks for the pictures. I guess this is the hitch for North America and the pictures I had where for outside of N. America.
Is this the factory hitch that people have or is this aftermarket? This number does not ring a bell: "321 483 600 107". Westfalia...VW?

Yes and Yes.
Westfalia is the OEM to Porsche (now VW) for the factory towbar control unit and mechanics.
I saw one person who installed the European hitch on a US Cayenne ... no idea why, just liked the swinging arm I guess.

The part number for the whole system that was just installed on my new 2010 Cayenne is
955-044-002-74
You will also want to get PNA-955-118-93 which is the standard American female 7 blade receptacle.

I just installed the Curt hitch on my 2004 Cayenne S. Basically a no brainer. 2 torq screws to remove each taillight, then a ball attachment remains, the entire assembly has to be pulled straight out, then unplugged.
24 torq screws to remove the rear fascia. Some where hard to find- inside the wheel well, at 11 oclock and one inside the black wheelwell liner, towards the top of the wheel well.
Also important, there are three templates on the inside of the fascia where it needs to be trimmed where the hitch goes. The smallest outlined template is the one to follow for the Curt hitch cutout. I used a Dremel to cut it. Easy. Another tip, use the factory bolts that come with Cayenne to attach the hitch, NOT the bolts that Curt Send you, they did not fit, at least in my case they didn't. Email me with questions.

ltc,
Does Westfalia also provide a brake controller unit with thier kit or is one now provided with the OEM kit??
Our 2004 C-TT has the factory wiring harness (7 pin) and the receiver for a tow ball and when I connected it to a trailer only the lights worked - there was no brake control pre wired in the vehicle.
Any thoughts - other than buying a Ford Expedition Diesel to tow with??
Thanks!!

No.
The brake control is not integrated into the Westfalia 1D6 factory towbar control unit; it is only responsible for lights.![ducking](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif)
The 4 pin connector under the dash is for the brake controller of your choice.
Now, if you want an OEM trailer brake control integrated with the vehicle ABS, I would direct you to your Ford dealer. It is available in the HD series trucks since 2005 IIRC.
Diesel torque, wheelbase, integrated ABS trailer brakes ... What's not to love about a cowboy Cadillac proper tow vehicle.

I would love to install non-factory hitch but 6000 lb limit is the sticking point. 7700 lbs is quite different than 6000 and I'd rather not compromise when it comes to buying rv. 1000 lbs is the difference between a really nice rv, and an ok rv. With my luck, I'd probably wind up with a trailer where total weight is 6600 lbs and then I'd wind up having to install the factory one anyhow. Either that or I'd select something that is under 6000 GVW, and then get other comments like too small, or no blah blah blah.
