Car won't start, absolutely no power??
Hi,
I have just bought an accident damaged 2003 Cayenne, it's not to bad although both the drivers and passenger aibags have both gone off. My problem is that I can't get any power to the instrument cluster apart from a faint back light on the computer screen in the middle of the cluster. Also, there are a few other lights coming on for example, the interior light and the key fob locks and unlocks the car, but nothing on the cluster and no sign of anything apart from the odd relay clicking when I turn the key in the ignition, and the engine isn't trying to turn over.
I have had an auto electrician out to it and he has suggested that it needs to go to a porsche specialist, the problem is that apart from getting the car to them is that I can't get one to even look at it. So I'm really really stuck with this now, I have checked all the fuses and all are fine and I have pressed the yellow reset button next to the battery, I've looked for any obvious signs of damage to the ecu's under the driverside of the dash and under the bonnet and they all look fine. But still no power.
So, I am really hoping that someone can maybe point me in the right direction of either where to look or if you know what module would cause this fault?? or if anyone knows a mobile Porsche auto electrician??
Many thanks in advance, and ANY advice you can offer will be most appreciated.
Anthony.

I know it seems obvious, but what is the condition of the battery - or in your case, probably the two batteries?

Thanks for that, do you know if the power cut off relay definatly needs replacing after it's gone off? it's just I've pressed the yellow button thinking that would reset the system, if it does that would add up with the problem.
Many thanks,
Anthony.

Also Denis C, the battery "seems" to be working ok, I charged it when I first got it and it's powering the windows, interior light and all the basics. The only thing I have noticed is on the glass inpection hole on battery is clear, do you know if thats correct and would the battery work the windows if it was faulty?
Thanks again,
Anthony.

It's hard to say with Cayenne batteries. When they start getting low, the car tends to exhibit all kinds of strange behavior. Also, since your Cayenne is an early build car, it may have 2 batteries - one under the driver's seat and one in the rear storage compartment under the floor panel. I'd check both just to be sure.
That being said, I'm not any kind of expert on Cayenne electronics. I'm more of an expert on Cayenne dead batteries. It sounds like your issue may be something beyond a simple battery change.
