Anyone here done a Torque Converter pump seal themself?
Curious if anyone has done it.
"Technically" it should not be any harder than removing and replacing any other trans with a T-case on the back like any other 4x4.
From looking at some pictures of the trans and engine side I'm slightly baffled by how to remove/replace the torque converter bolts to the flex plate since there seems to be no access opening in the bell housing.
Is the TC just left hanging on the flex plate during remmoval/replacement? (would seem odd and easy to tear a seal).
Anyone have good pictures of this?

Yep.
From one picture I've seen it looks like there is an access hole on the engine side of the assembly to reach the tc bolts. Anyone have a better picture of this? Can confirm the access point? I Heard there might be a special tool for those bolts? Part number?

I thought it was a #12 triple square drive (Bentley GTs have 6 of them holding flex plate to torque converter) so knowing VW its probably a triple square. You should be able to get them at a local parts store or online. I got mine from Matco about 4 years ago and I think it was like $120 but its a set...

This was just a time vs effort one. The shop will also warranty against leaks. Which means if I nick the sela putting it back together I have to do it all ove myself. If they Nick it, they can do jt again.
