And I would then assume that the woman in your avatar is holding the results of the Kooserectomy?

Along the same lines, my dealer just got back from Lepzig and he tells me that the new Torque Vectoring is THE option to get. Makes the car feel 1000 pounds lighted, yet more planted. The Car and Driver write up recently says the same thing.

Rome,
i just picked up an 2011 X6 50i (same engine, tranny, interior - middle rear seat) last Sat. right after picking up the car i stopped by at Porsche dealer to check out the new Cayenne. drove the S & Turbo both.

i can tell u the new Cayenne drives better than the X. feels smaller, lighter, much better interior - material usage & build quality. the steering on the new Cayenne just feels better than the X. my ordered X6 came up to be around 82k. i think the dealer launch Cayenne S is about 79k? at least that's the one i saw. i'm sure it'll be quite more the way i spec/want it.

i'm happy with my X6 buy. would i get the Cayenne instead? maybe not. mainly because we've had 1 Cayenne S & 2 Cayenne Turbo in the family from 2004 ~ 2009, it's time for something else. but if u want to know between the X5 & Cayenne which one is a better car i can tell u the new Cayenne wins. however, even though i love the new interior, i'm not sold on the exterior design. it's way too feminine for my taste...

after seeing the Cayenne in person makes me want the Panemera more. i need something to replace my M5 soon. i think that's it!

Anyone else considering the 5.0TT instead of a new Cayenne S?

I've spent more time than I care to admit trying to figure out how the BMW options work and I finally have it sorted out.

For what I want, I'm looking at a sticker of $73K for an incredibly well equiped vehicle. Invoice is about $67,500, and I'm reading that $1,000 over invoice is very doable, so basically $69K (incl destination and fees). Just to give you all an idea, for that price, it would include the following:

* 5.0 Twin Turbo engine (0-60 in 5.3 secs)
* Full smooth leather with stitching (incl seats, dash, doors and center console)
* Premium contour seats (which are incredible)
* Premium stero w/voice command (for phone and NAV)
* Nav
* SAT Radio
* Panoroof
* I pod/ USB adapter
* Blue tooth
* Premium '19 wheels w/all weather tires
* Heated Seats
* Heated sports sterring wheel (leather)
* Shadowline ext trim (like the 'M')
* Anthracite headliner
* Roof rails
* Running Board
* Dark Bamboo wood and alum trim (interior)
* Top/Rear view camera and parking sensors

Similarly equipped Cayenne is about 87K, so I really have to remember why I switched from an X5 to a Cayenne with a matter of days after I drove one for the first time. I hope I'm really impressed when I drive the new CS this weekend or I could be spending a lot more time on Bimmerfest... Yikes.

Enjoy the test drive!

I predict (challenge not!) that your natural abilities, or discerning wife, will pick the Cayenne. It is always good to compare.

I needed a car while I waited for a Turbo, and picked up the S in the interim.... my wife loves it..and we will put 1000 miles on it in the first week!

Sometimes price is unimportant. A cheap bargain can be an expensive purchase!

Same thoughts here. Going to drive both on Saturday, then make my decision.

I love the new Pepper shape (the 08+ were nice but the new one is much nicer) but Porsche has 0 lease "support" which with its much higher msrp puts me in a 4 digit lease payment - where I dont want to be.

My X5 is nearing being 3 months old and I love everything about it. Its a damn monster for a vehicle its size. Got the best brakes on any SUV I have ever driven. Rides/handles better then most sedans. Its just fun to drive...

Take one out for a spin, make sure you put it in S mode

EDIT: oops, older thread - just noticed.
