I may have misunderstood the service advisor P52.

Is the "alarm control unit" and the Kessy control unit the same unit?

Almost Same problem for me, 2004 4.5S, when i remove key from ignition i hear a click, when i close door and tip on door handle everything is fine.
When i remove key sometimes i donot get a click , closing with tip does not work then.
With remote i cannot close door and put it on alarm(i have replaced battery). I also remover kessy unit and checked connections, everything looks Oké but problem is still there. Where can it find rear control unit?

Default Kessy problem sloved but now new problem:)

Hi,
I checked all antenna and kessy module, removed all connections and have put them back, problem still the same.... But I also on the web a link to the ignition switch, I remoeved panel etc and switch, the connector to the swicth was not connected very well and the housing of the switch was a little bit lose, I openend iet cleaned it and put everyting back and my kessy problem has been solved it works fine!!
what is noticed when I removed the key( i donot use dummy key because it fails to work) sometimes i did not hear the final click , position of key on ,ost left position, and car was not locked and when i put key back car refused to start. The moving key several times from right to left the car started without any problems.
Now is comes, I parked my car and get the steering faulty error,
Now my car is at a porsche specialist for 2 weeks and this is what they did so far: put new igintion switch in car, still steering faulty problem, now the jhave put a brand new steering colum in th car, erro is gone but car refused to strat immobiliser error. My specialist has no piwi tester so car was send to official porsche delear and the cannot solve issue even with piwi tester!!
Now the advise to replace all comminication boxes between steering column and iginition unit..................PLSE HELP ME! I'm spending a fortune!

So...I just read Porsche 52's responses (which were really helpful) and I think I can now ask more intelligent question. I discovered that the vehicle will start with the dummy key in the admission and the key fob close by (but not 30 feet away). I can also open the rear hatch with key fob in my pocket.I cannot on lock or lock the vehicle doors with anything other than the remote buttons themselves. Does this help localize the problem?

Default Want to add Porsche Drive and entry

Porsche 52 thanks for great and useful info!

I have a question for you. Do you think the Porsche entry and drive system could be added to a 06 CTTS that didn't originally have it? On the build sheets it's only a $950 option. I know when you piece meal it gets a little more but I was thinking could I just change the ignition switch, add the Kessy unit, change the door handles and add the antennas. Would you happen to know if the wiring is already there?

Any thoughts?

I am happy with the internal antennas as the car starts with the dummy key as you have stated.

As mentioned earlier I cannot lock or unlock from any door handle.
I should mention that I also don't have any unlock action from the rear tailgate open switch or the tailgate glass open switch when the vehicle is locked. Are these tailgate open switches hardwired, discrete inputs into the Rear control module?
If so this leads me into thinking that it could be the Rear control module at fault.

The dealership that is looking into this fault has ordered all the external antennas to be replaced as they had diagnostic faults of all the external antennas being shorted to ground.

I find it hard to believe that all my external antennas have all gone faulty at the same time.
Could it be a case of one faulty external antenna is dragging down the rest of the system?

Anyways, it's times like these I am happy that I have the CPO warranty.

Only hitch is that the antennas are not in stock here and have been ordered from Germany. (2-3 weeks delay)

Hope they fix the problem.
I was wondering if you happen to have the part numbers for the outside antennas? Did you happen to replace the rear control module? Did these fix your problems? My comfort settings will not be retained either. My local Indy says all of the exterior antennas are throwing codes signifying weak signals. I'm wondering how much is involved to change them and the part numbers? Any help is appreciated.

Handel was a composer, no wonder he doesn't unlock it. What do you mean by "unlock or lock the floor"? Do you mean DOOR?

The luggage compartment antenna is located in the spare tire well somewhere.. if you've experienced flooding in the spare tire well, chances are it drown.

BTW- I deleted the duplicate post you made in a new thread. Let's try to keep all the KESSY problems in one thread.

Almost guaranteed you need a new Kessy control module. In my time I have yet to see a bad antenna but you should find it under the luggage compartment cover, behind the rear seats. Its a black rectangular box about the size of a deck of cars but half the thickness. IIRC there are only 2 or 3 wires going to it.

Does anyone know how to get access to the KESSY control unit as I want to check out the connectors ?

Also the antenna locations for the KESSY would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Default Kessy fault code 0179, 0180, 0181, 0183 and 1330

What do you think P52 ?
I have a similar issue, Open circuit fault code of 0179, 0180, 0181 and 0183. Can you tell me which interior antenna you have replaced?

Fault code 1330 relates to the Rear convenience system control unit.

The fact that you have all the other codes which relate to the Kessy antennas all appearing could be a result of a malfunction of the rear convenience system control unit circuit or the Kessy module / circuit.

It is unlikely that all those antennas have simultaneously failed.

I would be first checking the rear convenience unit circuit and reseating it’s electrical connector for starters.

If ok then you may have a faulty Kessy module / circuit.
