A guy in my neighborhood has one. I don't think it adds to the looks of the Cayenne. It looks out of place, IMHO.

It's been around since the early days.
Much cheaper as a factory install option.
It can be added by the dealer via Tequipment, but you don't want to know the cost (paint, bodywork, labor, parts)....hence it's very unpopular.

Option "1G3".

$1525 for 18" wheels, $1800 for 19" wheels and $2075 for 20" wheels.

I have it on my Transsyberia. Wouldn't go very far off road without a full sized spare!

The wheel cover is an expensive Tequipment option.

I have actually though of getting one fabed that can attach to the hitch. There are a lot of offroad bumpers that carry a lot of **** hanging on the back. It would be nice to have a real spare incase something happens.

I was going to order one with mine, but chose not to because..

-My car is coming with the standard 17" rims and in the Australian market only an 18" rim is offered with the wheel carrier; and
-You can't option either of the rear camera or power tailgate with the wheel carrier.

I will order another 17" rim and either put it on a roof rack when i go off road or (most lilkely) buy one of the hitch mounted spare carriers as mentioned above. I've found a few on the web.
