It’s an eyesore in many ways but nothing more sh***y than driving on the donuts they substitute these days. The full size spare tires should have never been removed from any cars.

That thing is hideous. Except for special cases, I'm convinced spares are unnecessary artifacts of automotive history. In 40+ yrs, I've had maybe 3 flats. The price of an OEM Cayenne wheel & tire will pay for maybe ten years of AAA. Or you can carry a couple cans of Fix-A-Flat, or a tire repair kit & 12V inflator like offroaders. Or put a full size spare in back or on the roof for the boondocks. Relatedly, my newer C300 Cab has no spare and teeth-rattling Conti "run flats" that I can't wait to replace with regular tires. I'll carry a cheapo jack and Fix-a-Flat; just in case. Also, cop friend told me that changing a tire on the interstate is like putting a huge magnet on your back bumper; carry three flares to space out well behind your car if you're changing a tire.
