Thanks for the picture! Maybe we can put to rest the misconception that the '08-09 4.8 Cayennes have the same coolant tube issues as the earlier 4.5. They have completely different coolant system issues, however!

Does the 2009 GTS have plastic pipes ar aluminum?

The '09 will have a single plastic pipe exiting the thermostat housing and extending to the rear of the engine. It then connects to two rubber hoses via clamps.

I've not heard of this pipe failing but, as a prophylactic measure, I replaced it when doing the thermostat a few weeks ago along with the thermostat housing, vent pipe, etc.

The replacement part is a metal tube that can be sourced from a dealer.
