Just purchased '04 Cayenne S, please help w\ info
Boxster owner since '99 and just picked up this '04 Cayenne w\ 60k miles in minty condition. Still learning the car as it's a day old to me. I was not able to determine yet if the headlights are HID/xenon can you? They do move up and down when you first turn them on.
Does my iphone work through the bose audio? There is a male stereo plug in the center console....Do the power seats have memory?
I don't know all the options, but I will mention below what I do know and if anyone knows what automatically come with certain options please let me know. I also included pics. I'm embarassed to say I don't know what the toggle is on the console that shows the road and other symbols, the dealer (not porsche) said it's for towing?
It has the following:
DVD NAV
Bose surround
Parking sensors
rear digital thermostat
pcm
wood/leather wheel
sunroof
cruise
pwr seats
heated mirrors
Any info on the above is very very much appreciated.

Welcome to the P!g Pen.
From the photos and your description, it appears as though you have HID headlights. You don't have the memory seat option from what I can see. I'm stumped by the male stereo plug. The iPhone question... woof... do some searching on here. The quick answer to that question is: NO. The toggle on the center console is for high/low range on the AWD system, used primarily when offroading.
Did your new Cayenne come with an owner's manual? If so, I'd suggest that you spend some time with it.
Good luck, and have fun learning about your new vehicle.

Welcome to the P!g Pen.
No memory seats, no heated seats, yes to rear climate controls, if you only have 'one toggle switch' on the center console then you probably do not have PASM, and as mentioned, you do not have Halogen headlights, you have Xenon/Litronics.
FWIW, there are 2 ways to confirm the build configuration/options:
A. purchase a CoA from PCNA
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...fauthenticity/
B. send your VIN to Suncoast and are kind enough to reply with your vehicle configuration.

The audio plug you described was not an OEM audio option, so it is most likely an input to an external hardwired FM modulator (or perhaps someone has installed a NAV-TV, Dension or mOBridge unit).

Don't bother asking me questions, I'm already dead...killed by Cayenne ownership.
Oh, and BTW, don't say anything about EnigmaWmn's "weight"...kind of self conscience about it, being that she's expecting, popcorn craving and all...just ignore the avatar.
Congratulations on your new Cayenne.

Very nice, but too purdy for me. My husband would just leave garbage and such all over the place like he does in my old red Miata -- which is why he is not allowed to drive my 993 anywhere, lol

One more thing - you don't have DVD Nav. You have CD Nav. The difference is subtle, but essentially you have the older PCM 2.0 system. The latest update to the map CDs includes 7 CDs, broken down by region.

How much should the cd updates cost, and is that all I need to update it?

The CD updates are around $250 - $300 from your dealer, or you can order them from Navteq. The update CD will also update the firmware on the system. Just follow the instructions and make sure to leave the car running while the firmware update is in process.

Navteq doesn't even have Porsche as an option. So would the Toureg version work?

They have changed their website - they used to sell direct map updates. I guess you are supposed to go through the dealer now.
