clacking noise on cold start
I always hear what sounds like hydraulic lifters clacking noise from our Cayenne S on cold start up, not as loud as a collapsed lifters but very noticeable. Can't hear it from the inside of the car, but definitely noticeable from the outside. Goes away after about a minute, longer than what I expect. I hear this same lifter noise with my 996 but only the first few seconds of a cold start up and only on few cases.
Does this have anything to do with us parking our Cayenne on an incline?
Have anyone else had the same experience?

It was around 50 degree when wife started the car earlier and I was standing next to it. But it was in the garage so probably 10 degree warmer at least. No noise at all, sounded exactly the same since new. Looking at your avatar it doesn't look like much of an incline. Didn't you say you changed your oil recently? Did you change brand or the viscosity by any chance? Left out a quart or drank it by mistake

My 06 makes horrible sounds on start-up (somewhat sporadic but becoming much more consistent - very clanky/rackety) - so must be somewhat common. Usually goes away after about a minute. I have it recorded on my iPhone as a voice memo...can't wait to share it during my next service visit.

I have 35k now. Not too concerned about the noise. I still have 2+ yrs to milk the P warranty. At the rate this thing breaks, I figure I should have a whole new car before it expires.
