Welcome to the P!g Pen.
It is customary on RL for new members to post a pic of their new vehicle.

Thumbs up Congrats on you 2005 Cayenne S "Pepper" (Not a "Pig").

If Porsche wanted it named a pig it would have been a "Swine" (a "Cerdo" in Spanish).

OK, one more time:

928 = Shark
Cayenne = P!g

Eventually you get tired swimming upstream against the current

I bet it's nothing special to anyone but me!

The tires are almost new and so are the brakes. No dents or scratches on the body and no stains or rips inside. I will detail it maybe this weekend and post before and after pics. I have my own part time detailing business I just started early this year but had to take a break from detailing since my auto accident this past July.

I have a couple of questions about the Cayenne.

1.) I saw a couple of little cuts on the carpet similar to the 2nd picture above by the gas pedal. What are those cut-outs for?

2.) Dealer only had 1 key for the Cayenne. Can I just buy 1 from ebay and have the dealer program it?

3.) Should I replace the spark plugs and do an oil change?

Thanks!

The photos look great.

The cutouts in the carpet give access to the hardware underneath. There is one on each side. They will never, ever stick down properly - no matter what you do. I'm not sure what they actually cover up, some kind of bolt or something? Maybe ltc knows?

You can get another key, but it will have to be programmed as you mention. I think it is expensive.

If you don't know when the oil was changed last, I would definitely do it. How many miles are on the car? Also, if you are doing the plugs, you should do the coils while you're at it.

I'm glad the cut-outs are normal. Whew!

So can a used key be reprogrammed or does it have it be a new keyfob? I did a search and new ones from the dealer ranges from 300 and up.

I'm not sure when the last oil change was so I guess it's on my list for this weekend. What will happen if I don't replace the coils?

It has 62K miles but extended warranty is good until 11/2010

I bought a new key fob with key, cut and programed at the dealer for
$350. Make sure you have both keys.

Talking

In addition, the dealer said that if you lose your key and do not have one original to work with on the programing, they have to order it from Germany. Not sure if that was true but it would be a bummer to be stuck somewhere for a while waiting on a new key. Better safe than sorry.

Lightbulb Its a Pepper, Pepper, Pepper! :)

I know what I'm saying Jim, I'm a Country Doctor!

I think they should cover that 2nd fob under the CPO. I know they cover the Valet Key (they gave me my Titanium without it - PO lost it) and tried to tell me that when you buy used it is "as is". I told them heck no, I paid an extra $3K for my CPO and turned my older 2004 CS with its VK so cough up a new VK. Given I have bought and serviced many Porsche, Audi and Honda vehicle with this dealer, they didn't give me any resistance.

Good Luck!

BTW, Your 2005 CS is a very fine example and I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy ours!

Thanks guys!

I installed 3M clear shield on the front bumper, headlights, fogs, fender, hood and side mirrors. Dealer also called me back and said they might be able to get me another key for $50. I love how this SUV ride and handle. Makes me want to change my daily driver (bmw 323i vert) to another Porsche. Only thing I don't like is the halogen fog light.
