Default Transsyberia Delivered Today

I realize the side decals are a bit garish, but I think I can live with it.

You didn't get the big Transsyberia decals on the doors?

I see a black CTran with orange accents and decals. That is garish.

I like the truck. It looks like the cat likes it too!

I, personally, didn't want the bling. A straight down the side bar that matches what is there in the front and rear would have been acceptable, though.

FWIW, the side decal is marked as a conflict with the rear mounted spare in the Order Guide. Can't see why, but it is.

Looks great, and I especially like the sliders - which I could use too. A deep thank you for not opting for the decals or orange contrasting paint. Now you need some knobby tires.

Love the spare tire carrier! All you need to do is to ditch those street tires and put some all terrains on! My favorite has got to be BFG AT. That is unless you travel in mud often...

I am surprise to see the side decal is not standard! Shame on Porsche!

That's on the list.

I just discovered a little "cheap bastards" on this thing today. The full sized spare on the back is identical to the tires on the ground in every way but one. It does not have a TPMS transmitter. There goes my 5 wheel rotation plans.

Also, with the rear mounted spare, there is no power tailgate open and close. The things they don't tell you, and you have to find out for yourself.

Nice, but in driving around town, the higher shift points of the Sport setting are completely unnecessary and not comfortable to drive.

One more finding in the "Cheap Bastards" mode. I checked the oil last night after 24 hrs of ownership and about 60 miles on the car. It was two (2) qts low.

Looks like Porsche is trying to save a few Euros at the factory, and the delivering dealer never bothered to check. Sure am glad that I did!

It may be slightly Off-Topic... but a few weeks ago we had the unique opportunity to drive the 'real thing'.

The Porsche Race Dept gave us Armin Schwarz's 2008 Transsyberia Works car for a weekend on and off the road.

We took it to an offroad area in southern Germany for a good shake-down. Wow, this beast is really impressive!

With well thought out modifications this machine is now really good in the dirt

Here are a few pics (and btw, the other car is an austrian 'Pinzgauer').

Wolfgang
