We took it to an offroad area in southern Germany for a good shake-down. Wow, this beast is really impressive!

With well thought out modifications this machine is now really good in the dirt

Lucky guy.

Because of the problems I'm having with the selliing dealer's service, I will probably sell mine. Too much electronics to trust it to a service department that has earned a no confidence vote!

Here are a few pics (and btw, the other car is an austrian 'Pinzgauer').

Wolfgang
That was cool! I bet your son (?) enjoyed that experience.

Hi Bill,

the driver in the 3rd picture is my buddy, the boy just wanted a ride (and enjoyed it).

Wolfgang, would you happen to recall what size BF Goodrich AT's the Transsyberia had on it? And as I'm sure they are bigger than 29", did they do any mods to get them to fit?

They are 265/65-18 BFG All Terrain A/T.

Thanks Dutch. That means they are almost 32", which means I probably could have fit the 265/60-18 Yoko A\T-S's on my GTS. Oh well.

If I keep the Transsy, that is probably the way I'll go. I have those tires on my G500; and am very pleased with them. Excellent performance off-road and quite quiet on the highway. (Actually, I'm surprised at how noisy on the highway these brand new Goodyear Eagle LS 2 tires are on the Transsy!)

I too had the Yoko's on my LR3, and I thought they out performed the OE all-seasons in everyway on the road. They are still my favorite AT. I have the Pirelli ATRs on my GTS, and they are very good on and offroad, but a little below the Yoko's in both.
