Default Truck or sport wagon ?

I've read where some people refer to the Cayenne as a "truck".

Sport Wagon is more appropriate.

Now this is a truck:

I agree that is a truck. However, I don't agree that the Cayenne is a sport wagon. I owned a Saab 9-5 Sport Wagon in the past - that was a true sport wagon. BMW makes a nice one. Sport wagons are really 4-door sedans with a wagon rear compartment. They handle like a sport sedan.

The Cayenne is an SUV.

Apparently I felt so strongly about it that I said it twice without even realizing it!

Man I couldn't agree more that a Cayenne is anything but a "truck". It has none of the qualities that one associates with a truck.

But "wagon"? Hell, those are fightin' words, big boy.

Honestly, I think it is the very definition of an "SUV" because unlike most SUVs, you are actually getting a little "Sport" thrown in along with the utility.

My Manual GTS reminds me a lot of my WRX sport wagon with the STi suspension, only more of everything. More room for me, kids, surfboards, bikes etc.The GTS is faster in a straight line and around high-speed curves than the WRX, but is too big to be tossable on the narrow logging roads that were so much fun in the WRX. Heck the GTS is faster in a straight line and around high-speed curves than my old Cayman, but nowhere near as fun or involving.

But, with it's 18" wheels and all-terrain tires on - it is a truck. It actually climbs really well on dirt and gravel mountainsides and muddy creek exits. Great wheel articulation (PDCC). Rather be in the Cayenne off-road then any other SUV barring a Land Rover. Plus the manual transmission and lack of Terrain Response is rekindling my old old off-road driving skills that were dormant with the Land Rovers.

Ehm, Pig Wagon would imply that this vehicle is used for transportation of pigs. I dare not go THAT route.....
