Default Cayenne GTS tires

Replacing my rear tires at 20,000 miles as they are at the wear mark. I might let them go a little if it were not that the vast majority of our driving is on highways and hot Texas highways at that since we have had over 50 straight days at or above 101.

I spoke to the Yoko dealer at Parade and he said we could expect 15,000 out of the OEM tires, getting 20K on the rears and still with 50% left on the fronts and even wear throughout, I'm not unhappy. I decided to stay with the Original brand and size, they just make the vehicle very stable. I should mention that some of the miles driven were towing and over some potholed roads going to Parade. Great vehicle and good tires.

Thought I might get some comments on what others are getting for tire wear on GTS models.

I can only comment on my Cayenne S tire performance. I have 20" wheels on mine, so not quite the 21" wheels of the GTS, but not much smaller. My OEM Contis lasted about 26,000 miles. This didn't include any towing, and didn't include too much highway driving. By that point, they were badly worn and making lots of noise. It sounds like your experience is fairly similar.

I'll be going through the tire selection process very soon too. I'm not sure what I'm going to get. Unlike the heat that you deal with, I have to worry about snow.

18,000 on OEM 21" Pirelli P Zero Rossos, just negotiated Discount down to $250 plus shipping for new ones.
Winter Pirelli Ice and Snow look like they will go for 25K miles prior to replacement (19"). Was tempted to run them all year but the 21's are a little better handling in the hot months.

I'm actually considering the same thing.

I decided to replace my 20's with the M+S Hankook Ventus STs. At $142/tire with free shipping, I'm not sure I can go too wrong. Did I mention they come with a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty?

My P!g will never see a track (as it shouldn't) so I am not too concerned about the performance difference between them and the Michelin Diamris, which I hated--loud and I approximate they lasted about 12k miles based on their prod dates/vehicle age/mileage. Not too impressive and at $350+ a tire I think only insane people purchase them and their similar n-rated counterparts (just an opinion after two P!gs). My CS actually handles better now (although the tires are new).

I am running the Hanlooks on my Cayenne now. I think it is the same tire, but I don't recall a 50K treadwear warranty. Mine are pretty well shot at 30K.

I am thinking it might be new too as I don't remember you mentioning it. But it says it clearly on their website and how to file a claim. However, I'll be happy with 30k after how short lived the Michelin's were. I posted somewhere else that even Conti has a high performance m+S that fits the Cayenne with a 50k warranty. The tire was so new that I couldn't find any reviews so I went with these.

Time will tell.

I did 20k miles on Michelin Diamaris, on 20" Techno's, with a "S" equipped with air supension. ..But I should add that they where well done !

I decided to go at that time (16k miles ago) with Vredestein Ultra Sessanta, (after reading European reports).
They are still good, but I will change them in about 2 to 3 k miles.
My comments :
1) Fantasctic feeling, excellent grip.
2) Less noise than Diamaris
3) The feeling of having the trend to follow "tracks" on used freeways with the Diamaris did disapear with the Vred's
4) Really excellent on water
My next set *IS" going to be the same, and this without any question.
I can add that they realy look nice and special (design by Giugaro !)
The only problem is to find them, I got them from an LA dealer (great people) this after searching through Vredestein US importer in East Coat.

Any updates on Cayenne GTS (295/35ZR21) tire choice (Summer Only)? I need 4 new ones for next Spring.

So far I've been happy with the Yokohama Advan Sport. Pirelli P Zero and P Zero Rosso are much cheaper. Continental CrossContact UHP are the cheapest. Looking for N rated tires.
