What clear fluid would leak from a CTT about a foot or so behind the front wheel?

A/C fluid is sort of clear/green tint, feels oily. I had mine leak all out from near the drivers sides front tire.
When I had it fixed it turned out the ac hose had rubbed up against the rad and frame too much that it had worn through it.
My mechanic said it was a very bad design and he when he replaced it tried to wrap it better to prevent it from happening again.
