Most Porsche dealers would be getting their inventory from auction or trade-in, and the major source of this is off-lease. Of the leases, over 75% or 36 month, so with the '04 being 5 years old, it is reasonable that there is a low volume of these at the dealerships. If you were to look at the '05's and '06's, there would be quite a few more, and they will all be interchangeable in a customer's mind.

This sounds like a suckers trap to me. The dealer I go to did the same thing. Needed to move a turbo by the weekend or they have to send it to auction, but I have to come in by the weekend to make it happen. What I found is they weren't really into discounting the turbo much at all.

I have a CS too and I think unloading it may be the bigger issue. I'm not sure at $30k they will sell on the private market. Unless you have room in your driveway for another car, maybe a trade then auction is the way to get rid it.

Although that marine blue black on turbo body is gorgeous.
It doesn't hurt to go and see it and have them run through some numbers......

If your CTT is in good shape and still has warranty left, why not drive it for 1 to 2 more years, as depreciation has already slowed down for your car.

As for the gorgeous marine blue CTT, here's a teaser picture.

Nice CTT. What tires do you have on that one? Are those Toyo's?

As said before sometimes shopping is half the fun.

That is a gorgeous color. If this were the 993 forum the first comment would be "that thing needs to be lowered!".

Perhaps followed by 'lose the wheels'.

My dealer sends me that same stupid offer like 5 times a year.
"we want your car" blah blah blah
Just a scam to get you in the door and try to hook you.

Yea, thought about lowering, but after our heavy snowfall of >60 cm over Christmas time, I feel that the height is there for a purpose.

As for the Champion RS97 wheels, they actually look quite nice on the truck.

Oh I understand the need for ride height on the Pepper, the 993's would never make it through 60+ cm (and mine wouldn't make it out of the garage with 1 cm!).
