Needed more storage room than the 996 for longer trips and occasional back seat passengers, but the C2 will still get its share of road trips. Took it for a run through our backcountry, up and over Palomar Mountain and through a lot of twisties and a couple of long straights - PDCC in sport mode is pretty slick - this thing handles exceptionally well for a truck of its size and weight, and the motor has some serious grunt when the turbos spool up. Only disappointment was Yokohamas instead of Michelins - you'd think when you order the car from the factory they'd at least let you specify the tires from the available list.

Be VERY careful when changing wheels with PCCB....one small 'ding' and you're done. An exploding rotor at speed under braking is quite a 'code brown' moment.
Most people with PCCB end up buying 2 wheel hanging 'studs' to help with alignment during removal and install.

Thanks - our sales guy (who used to be our service writer on the 996) clued us in on the rotors. The car comes with an alignment stud as is.

I don't know - the Yokohamas might end up being fine, but I've always liked Michelin. We had Rossos as OE on the 996, but once they wore we got Michelins on and they ride better with no apparent loss in grip.

Nice! I love it. Welcome to the club. Especially fond of the "Delete Model Designation". Did that to my '06 after sale. Stealthy.
You now drive the ultimate Porsche twin turbo V8 engine mounted in a safe, surefooted, lux speed pod.
After break-in... PSM off, manual shift whenever possible. As long as premium is at or below $2/gallon anyway.

Very Nice. Be sure to post a pic with you and your vehicle up top (Admin thread). Only complaint with the "re-do" is the encased tail pipes.. still think the Tit.S dual exposed are the best looking of all the variants. Question is the pic at loading level or is it the 21's?

Top speed on the C2 is 177, 173 for the S. Where I noticed the biggest difference was in passing a slow moving trailer on a long straight - just loafing along behind him the Tip was in 6th at about 1600 RPM - the torque band starts at 2250 RPM, and just mashing the throttle gets you a quick downshift and you're into the band as the turbos spool up, and the Cayenne just builds speed at an unreal rate from there. The C2 scoots when you change down a couple gears for the same pass, but it doesn't seem to build speed as urgently.
