You would still hear everything....the attenuation is not that good in those....only about 18dB to 20 dB or so....which is why you can still hear people talking when wearing them (assuming music is turned down).

The military ones are a bit better.

When driving in Washington, where one needs handsfree to be legal on the phone, I have just used to the buds for phone use, and no music. I think I have used the iFone once for music. BT, what military buds are you talking about??

I was looking for some buds that would fit underneath a ski helmet for noise suppression and not for music.

The best ones are made by Shure.

BTW, when using an 'intra ear' type bud, by default (actually it's passive noise cancellation), you get noise cancelling....without electronics.......think ear plugs.

Noise cancelling headsets, by any company, are a combination of 2 things:

Passive noise cancellation: easy to achieve, just clamp earcups really tight against your head. the trick is getting comfort and passive attentuation

Active noise cancellation: more difficult, lower bandwidth and less than passive.

Add them up and voila! you have the total noise attentuation.

No.
What is damaging is increased sound pressure level (SPL).
You can get damaging SPL from any style of headphones.

And your point would be?

Welcome to the Cayenne forum.
Traditionally, every thread gets hijacked.

Our esteemed moderator (day care provider) or our forum bartender can fill you in on the details.

BTW, boxers or briefs?

I thought the Cayenne threads were supposed to get hijacked... It's kinda like OT, but without all the nasty political stuff...

Guys - I don't know if you know (I'm sure you do!) but you can get the Tooki bluetooth kit that just plugs in to the PCM system and gives you full phonebook and everything. I fitted mine yesterday - just unplug the factory phone under the seat and plug it in to the optical, feed power and earth from the sat nav box and put the Tooki microphone in the front - took about 20 mins and worked out of the box.

Sorry if that is common forum knowledge!

Back on topic I have only had my S Cayenne about a week but already I absolutely love it. People who don't understand first class travel don't get the car - I'll leave them to their miserly economy class seats and enjoy the ride
