I bought a pre-owned GTS in 7/2011 and I have a this similar type of issue. However, I'd describe it as more of a moan/groan feeling, not really vibration. I thought it was the tires but I had a new set of Conti's installed last week, road force balanced and aligned at the p-dealer. It all starts a 80+mph. Any word?

either Road Force balance was not done or 4 wheel alignment needed or beginnings of drive shaft

As mentioned above p-dealer performed rf balance with hunter gsp 9700 and aligned the cayenne.

How can I verify drive shaft components degradation?

Also make sure to torque the bolts to the spec 118lbs! Most shops do a lot less than this. I also torque while the wheel is off the ground to make sure it centers. I had bad vibration like you describe. Had them speed forced balanced with the hunter machine, got new wheels with new tires ... never went away. With this method I have no vibration with both sets(winter and summer) of wheels every time. Give this a try .. it is free.

I had the problem on my 2012 S between 65-75mph. Below 65 was no problem & above 75 was fine too. Had the dealer take care of the balancing - problem solved.

I had a wicked vibration over 55mph. I had replaced my wheels and tires with aftermarket stuff and it was terrible. 4 balancing jobs. 4 new tires replaced under "defective" warranty. Still no fix. Called the wheel manufacturer and said must be the wheels that are defective. He asked what lug studs I was using and I said OEM. He said that the OEM wheels were conical and the aftermarket wheels had round holes. I ordered new studs and the vibration went away.
