Engine Light Came on, running rough. Nice way to start the week
Not sure what is going on now, but my engine light came on (steady, not blinking), I could not get above 4K on the tach when I stepped on it. Right side exhaust sounds bad. Car is running rough as hell and I had to nurse it to the dealer.
Took it to the dealer this a.m. (who kindly reminded me to do the 60K service) and picked up my lovely stripped down Jetta as my loaner car. So I am already in the hole for over $600 and this is before they diagnosed the problem.
Hopefully I will get it back before the long weekend, whereas I fully intend to break something else. Not sure why this **** always happens to me around the holidays....

Normal
Clogged cat? Coils? Injectors? Plugs?
I'm assuming you're naked with no prophylactic warranty coverage under the covers?

OK, got the verdict. Bad coils, they replaced all 8 with updated ones. Acuator motors went bad (again), replaced 7/8 of those. I went ahead and did the 60K service and actually received a break since part of the labor was covered by the bad coils. So the CPO warranty paid off again. The monster is back in time for the long weekend and associated roadtrip.
Ltc, I do truly believe that you miss Cayenne ownership.

Just had mine done too - 2006 with 22,000 miles.
Dealer took a couple days to do the work - said he couldn't get any local dealers to give up the coils as they see so many go bad they don't want to be without spares.
Note to self - change the coils every time you change the tires.

Very Good!
But the temptation can be too great at times, especially on this very tame forum. Just trying to keep the conversation lively!
FWIW, they checked the service history on my CS and this was apparently the first replacement of coils (60K miles). The ones removed part number ended in 01 and the replacements ended in 03, so apparently a couple of iterations have come out in the last 4 years.

So true. The temptation CAN be irresistable.
Congratulations on hitting 60k with the "01" coils, even if all the miles weren't on your watch. You beat me by a mere 44k. You should check the various "coils" threads here. You may not own the longevity winner, but you must be pretty far out on the bell curve - and yes, before any smart statisticians on the board bring it up, I do realize that the longevity of a part will not adhere to a Gaussian distribution.
