Jeez, I've never been able to keep the pepper under 80 for more than 1/4 tank and my gas mileage reflects it...... not uncommon to cruise at 90 - 95.

Hard to say... I can't really explain that one. I still can't explain how you were getting 22.8 in the first place though, so what do I know?

BTW, I set PASM to "sport" and the height to "low" virtually all the time. The mileage is the same as when I ran it on "normal".

We did 21.3 from Lake Como to Stuttgart this summer in our CM. It was a combo of 2 lane roads, city, and highway traffic. The windows were down except on the highways. It was broken in by then with >2500 miles. That was the best we did. Hence the picture!

Believe it or not, Larry used to get 22mpg highway on the 04 pig (cruise control).....really.
The pig's highway MPG is very speed sensitive, since it's about as aerodynamic as the Space Shuttle.

So what's the speed sweet-spot for mileage?

Has anyone confirmed the computer MPG readings the old fashioned way? I just don't trust those readings. Any MPG's I post will be from one fill to the next and checked with some form of calculator (cell phone has one).

I've never experienced lower gas mileage on the PCM... only accurate measurement is the old fill it to the brim both starting and ending and then calculate. I don't think a 5900# pig in the V8 AWD is going to get much better than 20-21 no matter what speed you're driving.. that has to be the max.. but then that's pretty dang good.
