yeah ltc - i can see you going for those 1 dimensional Victoria secrets types - my arguement pre-supposes you want something that can actually get up from the beach chair, think and be fun all year and even the year after.

I have been trying to not look at any pics of the GTS as to not enter an extreme state of jealousy - Damn that thing is nice!

Wait a moment, aren't you supposed to have me permanently installed on your 'ignore' list?

I was going more for the "reasons it replaces a 911". Having a nice sounding car is nice but if a Mclaren F1 sounded like a Geo Metro, I wouldn't walk away...

So did you chuck your turbo in favor of the GTS or did you do something more sinister, as I can see the LR in the background of one of the photos?

sorry for the sarcasam yetis - will trade it and may move the 996 as well - i have had the GTS as a loaner as the 996 just had an IMS failure - almost a week with the GTS and it is just an amazing machine.

I think the Cayenne is a decent substitute for most everyday driving. It is more sports-car-like than any other SUV, by far. But, a 911 can do things on the track that the Cayenne can't dream of. That's where the differences really show.

One of my favorite moments in my dearly forgotten C4, was the trip captured by my avatar. Northern Vermont in February with winter wheels on... Driving along the freeway after a nice covering snow, several SUV's in the ditch, or worse and me, not a worry in the world. Yes clearance as a slight issue early in the morning, but the looks from the SUV's in shock, was priceless! It was even a great winter car!
