It looks like the latest Map Data is dated 08.2007. I'm not sure about the p/n but try the 955.044.900.80 number. In order to run the latest map data DVD you need to be at what they call "Model B" PCM 2.1 s/w level or higher (see my post # 3 above).

Oh yes you certainly do.
Now go ahead, ask how much to upgrade to PCM 2.1B from 2.1.....hint: Big $$

Any idea what the upgrade from 2.1 to 2.1b gets you?

Per Sunset, the 08/2007 Nav/PCM (DVD) update is $226.76. I ordered mine yesterday 5/1/08.

P/N 955.044.900.08

I'll update this thread after I find out what level this update puts my PCM at. This is supposed to include BOTH a PCM and a Nav (map data) update.

hi guys! I just joined the forums. I picked up a 04 Cayenne S. Should I just replace my nav with one of the in dash Pioneer or Alpine units. I don't want one of the garmins that stick to your windshield. From reading several threads on this matter, it appears the update from an 04 unit to an 05 dvd based unit is quite an expensive upgrade.
thanks for all the information guys!
