In all seriousness the service writer WANTS to write it up- it's $$ man!!

Our service writers want to write up as much work as possible!! It IS under warranty! So WHY NOT?

Right? Right!

Mine doesn't seem to... I always get the "normal wear and tear" excuse. That category is so damn broad almost anything falls under it as a matter of convenience.

Perhaps PCNA doesn't feel like replacing every single item that a dealer determines is a 'defect' coverered under warranty.
Perhaps this is why they want parts replaced under warranty returned for inspection?

Burning excessive quantities of oil? NO problem, here is a replacement crate motor...I'm sure PCNA would be more than happy to pay for it.

Well my dealer installed 2 new headlights to repalce the defective pair. After a close inspection it appears the dealer repalced the entire headlight...not just the lense. I do have the part # 's if someone can determine.

The lights look great..also had side clear markers installed...I was hosed for the install $ 110.00..ouch!

Had both headlight assemblies changed out about 1 mo ago on my 06 CTT at 30k mi. Dealer said the problem is most evident in southern climes...I'm in Fl. Will most likely change the new ones out just before warrantry is up. It was suggested to put the 3M shields on them though I don't know if it'll make a difference. Mine had moisture too...I have the Xenon setups.

I'll bet I know what my dealer will say if I bring mine in for this (it has them and are clear to see when the lights are on)... "normal wear and tear"

mambodoc, you are right on the money. I purchased my CTTS from Pensacola,FL and drove it North 1200 miles...My dealer agreed immediatley to replace the headlights but was stumped over cause and had not had this problem with any other Cayenne.

My 04 has the same problem, way out of warranty.
Would wet sanding the clearcoat off and buffing it back fix it?

My experience with these hairline cracks has been that they were inside the lens and therefore a whole lamp assembly replacement was required.

The cracks are on the inside clearcoat of the lense. I had them on my ctt 2005. They replaced the headlights under cpo ... but they may just replace under defective item. The clearcoat is defective! That is a fact.
