Default The Pepper is gone

https://rennlist.com/forums/off-topic/403209-well-unfortunately-it-was-a-short-love-affair-but-the-pepper-is-gone.html

I know a lot of people did not have many nice things to say about the Alpha/Beta's....and after having been an owner of a Beta for about 8 months...I can see why However, my Pepper never once left me stranded and that I am very happy about But the amount of problems/bugs that I incurred (and after having made a half a dozen trips to the dealer in 10k miles...I probably was close to having them all worked out )...but this past week I kept getting the "Check Dipped Beam" for my left Bi-Xenon and I went naked (well semi naked since I had purchased an after market warranty...but had my doubts about them since a recently I discovered that few months ago their underwriter for Porsches and other high end vehicles went belly up ) So that was the last straw. I could not take the chance of not being covered, especially with this vehicles checkered service/problem history with such low miles on it

So she is gone But I hope to have another (06 or newer) when I retire at the end of this year as I truly loved driving the Pepper! But this time it will be a turbo

So hopefully I will be around here to stay as you guys are the coolest bunch around And after having already been a member of the Bimmerforums a couple years ago when I owned a couple BMW's....I had never encountered more immature wannabe's on any automotive forum EVER than I did on there So hopefully I will still be welcomed here

Chief

Hey, what about buying a 928 from one of my "friends" in the other thread?! Fair winds, Following seas, Chief. Alpha/Beta and select '05 Cayennes are great, but only for as long as your patience and dealer keep it "great".

WOW

That was quick! What did you do with the pepper?

I definitely know the feeling although I really haven't had any issues with the turbo (yet ) - took it to Canada the other week and just loved all 16 hours of the ride family and all...

I guess being in the same warranty situation as you is what makes it so questionable

JR

EDIT: just checked out the link in your message - beautiful M good luck with it!

Sorry to hear this Chief ... I'm sure you thought this throughly and came to this decision.

Yes, what do you end up doing with the Pepper?

Jason - sorry to hear that you temporarily left the family. You'll be back...

Meteoric is how I describe your participation. You burned too brightly. Godspeed.

Get yourself a nice used 911 (there are some good 996 deals out there) or a Cayman/Boxster. You will be very happy - then rent a truck when you need it.

Agreed - If I didn't have a kid and one on the way I would definitely still be driving my boxster...

Tough to stick 4 kids and hockey gear into a 993, but maybe if it was a Cab, I could make it work. State Police and kitten would love that.

i can't believe you are gone that quickly - good contributions during the stay - i guess it is like a bad stock, cut the losses before they go lower?

anyway, you will know how to turn the next one upsidedown, so to speak, when you make that deal: almost makes me feel sorry for the vendor.

btw - give them a hint that you want a turbo for a retirement gift!

Oh, now that's cold.

I don't own a Cayenne (never did) and I'm here.....is Cayenne ownership a pre-requisite to contribute/post here?
Did I miss the memo or something?

That WAS cold, wasn't it? Sorry, droptop - couldn't resist. We still love you even if you've left the fold.

Actually, I didn't know there WERE any pre-requisites to posting here. I didn't think you had to be a Cayenne owner, or even play one on television. Personally, I think the "I never-owned-one," "I don't-know-how-they-work," and "I have no idea why your martini tastes funny, Peter" subset of our members deserve at LEAST as much respect as the rest of us. And another tiny voice says "fore."

Wow, that was quick. My fellow San Diegan, outspoken as hell, has left the fold.

Sorry the experience did not work out for you. I will let that lady service writer (forgot her name already) at Pioneer know you will no longer let her fix your struts.
