Default Front Plate Mouting

Our new-to-us CS does not have any holes in the beautiful front bumper, and I would like to keep it that way. But, being that I live in Jersey, and this is a daily use vehicle for my wife (and we live in a small town with very bored law enforcement), we have to get the plate on there somehow.

I was thinking about mounting the plate to the skidplate area below the bumper, similar to the way plates were mounted on the older 911s. Has anyone done this? Any other creative solutions for this dilemma? The bumper you save might be mine!

On the turbo I have the larger front grill but the license plate holder had four rotating ***** that trapped themselves behind the grillage when rotated. No mounting screws required

I tried running without the front plates in my allroad. Got pulled over by overzealous Wa State Patrol. Don't like having it on but unwilling to deal with those guys unless I have to.

Only with a gun to my head would I drill into my Cayenne. No tickets yet although I did get a verbal warning from a cop in Fircrest to put a plate on. Basically just harassment as about 15% of all Washington cars don't have one.

DON'T DO IT.

that is a great link on the front plate Blade -MD.

it is somewhat like what i did on my 4S. it follows both the horizontal arc of the bumper and is vertical slope.

thanks

Here's my thought process on the front plate issue: Hypothetically had a couple of cocktails (and that's all it takes for overzealous law enforcement in my area). Driving home and 5-0 notices you don't have a front plate. How do they know? In MA, "newer" plates (after say late 1980s) are red lettered/numbered and are all issued in pairs. Older plates are green numbered/lettered. If you have red, you need 2 plates on your car. Green it is OK to have one.

Pull you over for that, and boom now you have to defend a DUI. Even though you may win, you are out 2-8 large depending on the attorney, plus court costs, fees etc. Not to mention you get to be a guest of the state at a cross bar motel for a night until they can get a bondsmen down to the jail.

Not advocating you D&D, but it is not worth the risk to get whacked for not having a front plate, IMHO.

The ticket is the price of the mod. I don't run with a front plate. I have been stopped once and got a warning, another time I got tagged for speeding and he gave me a ticket for no front plate too. Got out of the speeding tkt but had to pay the front plate fine. Oh well

A possible DUI is a little too steep a price for me. Don't want to give them any more reason to have a discussion with you, which leads to bigger and better things (for them). The plate is on.

The only time I've ticketed for not having a front plate is by an over-zealous meter maid. They can't give me a ticket for only that, but if my meter is expired they get me for both.
