Not sure if this is a reference to the fact that not many take their cayenne of road or not...
First forward move activates the off-road driving program (low range with reduction) used for well...off-road second push will lock the center diff forcing the 2 axles to turn at the same speed for some serious traction. I believe depending on options you can also lock the axle diffs...not an option on mine.

And if you push it for the 3rd time, I believe you'd get rear-wheel differential lock. Since I've never taken CS off-road either, I'm guessing that only the rear-wheel axle will turn at the same speed. I can understand why you'd want first (low range with reduction) and second (center diff. lock). But does anyone know which situation warrants for the rear-wheel differential lock?

If you end up in deep snow or mud this feature is helpful to move you out of a difficult situation. This feature is essential if you have a vehicle with at differential that switches power to the wheels that are not spinning and you go deep or offroad.
