Hi ltc and/or Toby,

Are these the needed pre-installed wiring under the passenger seat for the phone prep kit to connect with the Bury device?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a YES answer.

thanks,
Sam

Yes. Now all you need is the main kit with the MOST interface and cradle.

In fact, it looks like there is a vendor here in the US that has a Bluetooth cradle pplug-in for the THB System 8 setup that formed the basis for Porsche's Hands-Free Phone kit - Here is the link for PTP-USA. Look at the very first entry! Note that there are other cradles available for the System 8 system. Good luck!

So for an iPhone, the first entry is what I need as far as additional parts (cradle+adapter)?
and for the installation, I should take the car to the Porsche dealer. correct? in the past you mentioned something about programing also...

I hope finally I can use the wireless cell option after 3 years,
many thanks,
Sam

Be prepared for an 8-10 hour odyssey at $125/hour for the installation of the Prep Kit and the Main Kit. They basically have to remove lots of covering panels in back and the integration with the head unit also requires removal and reinstallation of side panels and other cable channels buried inside the car. Once all the pieces and parts are installed, THEN the dealer must properly program your car with the PIWIS. Good luck!

Sam,
Go ahead, you know you want to......

Welcome to Cayenne Hell 101. My name is Larry, and for the next 8-10 hours, I'll be your tour guide into the hell that IS post production Cayenne electronics integration.

Our first stop on the tour: Hey, how hard can it be to replace halogen headlamps with BiXenons. Your guest speaker: Toby.

BTW, it's about 8-12 hours to retrofit satellite radio, except you have to remove trim panels, headliners, seats, carpet, dashboard, from stem to stern. IIRC, Larry posted the outline of the TSB....

Am I missing something? I thought what I have (pictured) is the prep. work for just attaching the Bury unit (base + cradle)? programing I can live with but...
I don't think I would touch it if it involves 10 hrs of labor and hell heat...

Correction! This will only be a 3-4 hour effort - my mistake. Main Kit install (if you can find one) involves moving the passenger seat into a very grotesque position to install the interface box. Then there are cables running through the center console up to the UGLIEST single piece of plastic ever to grace a Cayenne's interior. (There is a company here in Arlington, TX that used to make these consoles in an inexpensive leather cover that closely matches interior colors. They still sell them on eBay.) Much nicer than the PNA part.

Once all that is done, NOW you can acquire the Bluetooth adapter from PTP-NET. Make sure your dealer programs the car properly and you too can enjoy Bluetooth in your Cayenne.

Me? I cheaped out the second time around and bought a Turbo Cayenne with the GSM phone already installed. T-Mobile Pay-As-You-Go is a great thing! Bluetooth is over-rated!

I actually have no idea what ever happened to the Cayenne that I never owned.

I do seem to have some recollections about attaching a very large tow chain to the rear trailer hitch/receiver, attaching the other end to the diesel Excursion, putting the Excursion in L, taking off and ripping the entire trailer receiver from the Cayenne's unibody (sort of like how the 3 Stooges remove a tooth with a string and a door ****).

Fond memories.....

How apropros! Three Stoges, Tooth Extraction AND Larry! Why, even the name is correct! Very good Lar.... um Lewis!

BTW, did you hire a flock of big seagulls to fly in and peck out the headlights? Or did you have them simply slam into the rear window to make sure it was closed properly?
